Pride comes before a fall

Must admit, in my last blog I was feeling rather smug and pleased with myself. Then biff bam wallop 5 losses in a row. I don't think I played badly but was out thought and out manoeuvred. Looking at the games castling eary seemed to be the problem as my opponents launched  attacks down the A or H files and the was King trapped well and truly. The discussion that followed in the forum was helpful and informative, thanks to all those who contributed.

So what have I learnt, 1) don't castle for the sake of castling. 2) be ready to castle King or Queen side, but wait until the attack is obvious, sometimes it may be best not to Castle !! . In other words play the board as it is, not as you would like it to be. Still the best piece of advice I was given years ago and forget to my peril.

The result of all this analysis, shh, I started to win again, but keep it quiet, remember Pride comes before a fall.
