Chess and the Private Detective #1

In this classic video clip from The Rockford Files, ex-convict Angel Martin (Stuart Margolin), explains to private detective Jim Rockford (James Garner) that Rocky (Noah Beery) has delivered checkmate. Angel says: "This here game's over, man. You gotta move your boss or Rocky's gonna land a subpoena on him. And his torpedo's gonna smoke your old lady and all your heavies will be doing time, except maybe your mouthpiece and Rocky's sheriff's got him put in a corner. You got nothing left but punks and junkies. You through, Jimmy."
