Chess and Rap
Kenya the hub of talents has one of the most talented and creative people in the entire world, Today I introduce you to Lucy Wanjiru she is the 2019 Kenya National Champion (Ladies) and also a rapper.
Below is one of her masterpieces:
Below is a portion of the rap:
"All of you better beware,
When I get to the throne you better not be there,
I am so impatient get off my seat boy,
Don't you see the game needs a replacement,
I am a prodigy (yeah) I know what fake is,
This is greatness you cannot fake this,
But okay let's get back to reality."
Her content is amazing but with very few videos and irregular uploads. This is a hidden gem in Kenya and hoping she comes back to rapping.
In terms of chess, her Fide rating is (1438) Standard, (1354) Rapid, and (1300) Blitz. She earned her Woman Candidate Master title in the 43rd World Chess Olympiad in Batumi, Georgia in 2018.
Let not the ratings fool you she is a chess olympian and defeated many illustrious chess players such as WFM Meri Grigoryan the 2022 World U2300 Women's Chess Champion.
Below is the game:
What is she doing now?
You might ask well as always Kenya the land of milk and honey always has opportunities for promising chess players. She is now a Chess Instructor for Terrian Chess Academy.
