East Africa Junior Chess Tournament

The East Africa Junior Chess tournament is an event organized by the Lighthouse chess club that is based in Mombasa. It brings together the best juniors from the East Africa region to battle it out to find the best junior in each age category.

The first game ill show you is where one side has an exposed king and how it is so hard for a younger player to defend properly and how it is very important to play actively in all your games.

In the next game, we see a classic example of the Roman era of chess where piece sacrifices were the norm but which is frowned upon now because of the rise of computers which give us ways to defend against an attack.
