Chess with Checkers: That is a good variant

Chess.com has launched Chess with Checkers, you can find it in Play ➡️ 4 Players and Variants ➡️ Most Popular. 

The main reason I believe this is a good variant is that it improves your mental visualization and chess memory. It seems an intermediate step between regular chess and blindfold chess. Yes, I think it helps with your blindfold chess.

How to play it?

The only difference from regular chess is that your chess pieces are replaced with checkers pieces, but they still represent your chess pieces. Additionally, the algebraic notation of the moves is displayed with an interrogative mark.
