My February post of the month
Here is post number 2 of my monthly posts. We have had some very interesting news this month, so let's dive in.
Events to watch this month:
1. The FIDE Grand Chess Prix 1 started on February 4 and will go to February 17.
2.The Chess.com Rapid Chess Championship Week 1 starts on February 11 and will go to February 18.
3. The Meltwater Champions Chess Tour 2022 Airthings Masters Tournament 1 will start on February 18 and will go to February 26.
4. The FIDE Grand Chess Prix 2 will start on February 28 and go to March 15.
Player of the month:
1. For the first person in this section, I am choosing Levon Aronian because he swept his group in the 2022 FIDE Grand Prix Berlin, and ended with 4.5 out of 6 ,1.5 points ahead of the rest in his group. He was also the runner up of the knockout.

2. For this section, I am choosing Hikaru Nakamura because he won the 2022 FIDE Grand Prix Berlin in the rapid tiebreak against Levon Aronian.

Female player of the month:
For this section I am choosing Mariya Muzychuk because she was the top scorer on the woman's team during the Gilbralter Battle of the Sexes. She got 6.5 out of 10 with no losses. Even though they lost she still did very well.

Junior of the month:
For this section I am choosing Ryo Chen because he got his first IM norm in the Charlotte Chess Center IM Invitational. He is a very strong, young chess prodigy, and we will see him again on the big stage. He is the 2-time Chesskid Youth Speed Chess Champion.

Senior of the month:
For this category, I am choosing GM Yuri Averbakh because he turned 100 on Feb 8, 2022. He is the oldest living GM.

My favorite blogger/content creator/streamer of the month:
For this category I am choosing Hikaru Nakamura because he won 2 Titled Tuesdays, and an Arena Kings on the same day. He also won the in the 2022 FIDE Grand Prix Berlin.

Federation of the month:
For this category I am choosing the USA because in the FIDE Grand Prix Tournament 1, in 3 of the 4 groups an American came first, and in one of them So came second. In the other group, there was no American.
