Play Me In A 77-Board Simul For Charity On Oct. 31
Would you like to play me in one of the largest online chess simuls ever and help support Doctors Without Borders?
On October 31 at 8 a.m. Pacific time, I will be playing 77 opponents in a simul on Chess.com. IM Levy Rozman (twitch.tv/gothamchess, @GothamChess) will be next to me, providing live streaming commentary of the most interesting games on my channel at twitch.tv/gmhikaru.
The entry fee is $20, and all proceeds will go directly to support Doctors Without Borders. You can also make a direct donation of up to $100 through the sign up form here. Otherwise, we will be taking donations throughout the event.
Eligible players must be U1800 and have an account in good standing on Chess.com with 200 games played and at least two months of activity on the account. I'll also be selecting seven alternates who will have the opportunity to play if any slots open up. If not, the alternates will receive a refund.
Be sure to have at least 2 hours of free time because the time control will be 60|45... 60 minutes plus 45 seconds increment per move for each player. All players must be present in Live Chess (www.chess.com/live) at least 10 minutes before the official start time. Games will be launched automatically by my moderators. All games will begin by 8:05 a.m. Pacific time. There is no need to challenge me directly. Just log in to Live Chess and be ready for your game!
