
Speed Chess Champs: Two Knights vs. Two Bishops? Two Bishops vs. Two knights? I’ll take both!
Speed Chess Championship Grand Prix Arenas are fun, and even though I’m personally invited to the finals, playing the qualification matches is no less fun in any way. Strong players and excellent prizes in such an open blitz tournament always makes playing interesting.
The road to winning the tournament was far from easy and smooth; being able to save a lost endgame against Sjugirov in round four was key. Afterwards, two extremely key wins in round six against the always entertaining, unexpected, and creative Jobava and then round seven against the “only” IM but top GM level blitz player “Wonderfultime” Minh Le.
