Unbeaten in St Louis Rapid and Blitz

It felt good to be back playing over the board and it felt even better winning the tournament. Doing it without a loss in 27 games was just icing on the proverbial cake!

After almost two years of no OTB chess I played the St Louis Rapid and Blitz event – 9 rapid and 18 blitz games. Winning each of the events -- the Rapid and the Blitz and the overall event by scoring 3 wins and 6 draws in the Rapid and winning the Blitz with scoring 3 wins and 6 draws on each day of the Blitz felt very satisfying. This was one memorable tournament for me.

Analyzed below are two of my wins in the rapid including the key win in a dramatic last round vs Fabiano that allowed me to grab the lead in the rapid section and lead I kept through the rest of the event. Don't forget to check out the YouTube video at the end.
