Chess Middlegames: Open Files
Hello! chess.com friends! Hope you are doing fantastic
Today, we are going to discuss about the open files. So, what are open files?
According to Nimzowitsch, "A file is said to be open for the Rook when no pawn of his [own color] is in it."
Now, let us look into the game between Topalov and Anand, Bilbao 2008.
Here we have another example of creating and using open files...
Conclusion:
- The open file is one of the most important notion which has to be followed.
- We sometimes forget to follow the simple basics amidst calculating long complicated lines.
- Rooks belong to the open files.
And that's all for today, thankyou all for your time and do not forget to share your games based on the open files (your games will be featured with your permission).
