Puzzle Of The Day - The way to solve (for beginners)

In this blog, we will discuss today's chess.com puzzle. I will show you the method and the process of calculation. Let's start...

• The king is weak 
• the 7th rank is dominated by white
• the g8 knight is our target piece

Process of thinking :

• the queen is the only piece that supports the g8-knight
• If we capture the knight on g8 we can give a mate
• but, the queen blocks the check at f8 so, we first give a check on f7 to make the f8 square unprotected
• to do all the above we have to deflect the queen
• thus we use our candidate move method ie. checks,captures and threats
• now, we will be able to find a move that helps to deflect the queen,give a check on f7 and then mate!
