Endgame Ideas

Hello! This is my first blog post. I'm not a grand master but I've studied my fair share of endgames. I've used many ideas in which I'll show to draw seemingly lost positions or win difficult endgames. For this emission I would like to start with KING AND PAWN endgames. Understanding these is key to winning certain positions.

The first position I would like to share is when you have 2 pawns( g and h or a and b) against a single king. Most people Try to queen both, but if your opponent stays in the corners, it will be a draw. To win you must sacrifice a pawn(a or h). Here's what I mean...

This position shows how natural moves can sometimes draw a winning position...
If you ever have a one on one pawn endgame where both pawns are on the same file and in front of each other it's important not to go to the square protecting yours and attacking the other...
This is all for now. Let me know what you think down in the comments section. Was this helpful? I might also do some post on the french defense, Ruy Lopez(my personal variation), and Sicilian defense. Thanks for reading!!!happy.png
