Hello there! Award-winning JETINATE speaking, and today we will be going over the pros and cons of blitz chess. So, without further ado, let's begin!

PROS

Let's be honest, blitz is fun. All the pieces flying and crazy tactical shots, it can get addicting. To really improve at chess, you need to think about your moves and plan ahead. Blitz chess is just instinct. Blitz chess can help with tactical vision and reflexes, but isn't the ideal choice for improving.

As you can see, blitz can get crazy. But that is what we like, drama, crazy moves, time scrambles, that is what makes blitz, well, blitz!

CONS

Chess is a thinking game, some say it is the IQ test of board games. If you rush a IQ test, will you get a good mark? No! Chess was made to challenge us and for us to think. But, blitz throws that out the window. Rushing chess move isn't always a good thing. You should take your time. Also, if you play too much blitz then in classical games you will rush cause you have built a habit. And, if you start with 1hr 30 and end with 2 hrs, and you lost, I think you can see where the problem is there.

Since these two were rushing, they made some really bad moves! Look at the eval bar swing!

CONCLUSION

Rapid/Classical chess is better, but blitz in moderation is fine, as it can build on tactical vision and reflexes. Blitz is not bad, it is just not the fastest way to improve.

Bye everyone! Have a nice day!
