Super Mushroom
JETINATE: So, this is basically in like every Super Mario game. It only gives you one extra hit to take. But, it is very iconic so I will give it bonus points for that. It has so much merch too, and it is instantly recognizable among fans. 7.5/10. ICD: This is... by far... the most OG power-up in all of gaming history. Haters gonna hate. Little mushroom, big outcome. Now, you may be thinking ,"what about the fire flower and super star? I bet they're just as good, if not, better!". To that I say that the fire flower doesn't stand a chance and the star is a lot closer but barely missed bullseye. The super mushroom (if you didn't know, is the first available item to Mario in the first Mario game, almost 40 years ago. That's like before the dinosaurs. The only problem is that it's kinda a weak item, it literally does nothing most of the time. Also in this game you can find the mega mushroom that makes you big and invincible to anything except spikes, lava, poison and void.
And here I bestow the mark of... 8/10 OG and fire but kinda weak
Fire Flower
JETINATE: Okay, so the fire flower is pretty OP (Over Powered), as at the press of one button you can shoot fireballs that one shot most enemies. It gives you 3 hits to die, so if you get hit twice you are still 100% fine. It is also pretty iconic, which gives it bonus points. You can spam this really fast and take out bosses in seconds if successful. Fun to use, too! 10/10 You can like make bosses CRY with this one man... ICD: The design on this is actually fire. Literally, it summons fire. I have a problem with this though and that's because none of its cool variants are also here. Like the ice flows and the bubble flower. Well actually, the bubble flower was made after 3d world so there was no chance it would have been added. Some people forget that this was in the OG three first power ups ever. The two others are the super mushroom and the super star. One thing, why do all the power ups have eyes bro??? Were they killed and then Mario eats their heads to gain power. Like that wizard guy from gravity falls.
OG, powerful and overall a blast to use. 10/10
Super Bell
JETINATE: The super bell is the most popular power up in Super Mario 3D World. It instantly turns Mario into cat Mario, which is really cool. It allows you to do all this like crazy movement like all these fast dives and stuff. You can also CLIMB WALLS like dang spiderman!! How can you not love it? Isn't that cool or what? It also gives you 3 hits to die like the fire flower, which is also quite nice. But, the design could be better. 9.5/10. ICD: It's not even OG and yet I feel like this came out in the dark ages. It's also insanely powerful killing enemies easily, the movement is crazy, making previously impossible jumps a breeze and finally its power of climbing, this is so useful to play it safe. This item has also loads of variants that I also have to mention. The lucky bell is either worse or better than the bell depending on your situation. You could need coins and then just ground pound infinitely for infinite coins, it also gives you invincibility to an extent while you are in the ground pound position. The bad part is that if you ever need to ground pound jump it won't work because the lucky cat ground pound position doesn't allow you to do that. So that would be some massive height gone. Also you can't dive. The invincibility bell is all plus, except for the fact that you need to pat $25 to get it, because it can only be obtained through the cat Mario (or cat peach) amiibo. Though it will give you invincibility for everything except void, lava and poison. It wears off after one level and you return to normal after though. Still you can just use it infinitely.
I bestow the bell 9.67/10, very good and good variations. But design needs more
Super Leaf
JETINATE: The super leaf transforms Mario into Tanooki Mario, enabling him to float and perform a tail attack. It is an iconic power up and deserves a solid 7/10. ICD: This is actually my favourite power-up in all of the Mario series. I just really like the design, especially on Luigi. It's just the power isn't really useful after 3 seconds since at that point you're just falling a tiny bit slower than normal. The design is (as I said before) absolutely fire. Fun fact, this item was actually introduced super Mario: 3d land. Not 3d world. Honestly the next game in the series could be super Mario 3D universe. I'm not saying galaxy because that would just be Mario galaxy. Starring the all new dog Mario. Yes I know. All original, I'm so smart. Turn Mario into an animal for the fifth time what a genius move. The invincibility leaf is just the tanooki leaf, but invincible to everything except void, lava and poison. The only thing able to withstand those are the wonder flowers and badges.

Boomerang Flower
JETINATE: The boomerang flower is really cool! It allows Mario to throw Boomerangs, which can defeat many enemies when used correctly. It also dresses you like a hammer bro, which is really nice! It is weaker than other ones, though. The design is a bit bad too, like come on a BOOMERANG ON A FLOWER? 6/10 ICD: What the hell is this!? Nintendo is just making all of their power-ups flowers. It gets so pointless. The only unique thing about this is that the projectile comes back since it's a boomerang. You can't even spam the boomerang. It's just based off boomerang bros. I thought hammer and fire bros were good enough. I guess it can take out multiple enemies at once but the ice flower can do that as well. Also it doesn't hurt bosses I don't think.
Bad and unoriginal: 3/10
Propeller Box
JETINATE: I love this one! You wear it on your head and then you can twirl up into the air and fly. It is pretty OP, so I will give it an 10/10. You can skip WHOLE SECTIONS if you have momentum! Like this should be banned in speedrun categories or something. Bonus, it also adds onto your current power up so you can take 4 HITS! You can damage boost bam bam or whatever his name is with that! ICD: Literally the best item in the game, useful and adds to your current power up, also gives you tanooki glide but better and you can fly way upward. Four hits to death since the propeller box will already take up a hit. You can have the propeller plus the cat power up which would make it super powerful. The design also looks really nice.
Too OP for Mario: 11/10
SUPER STAR
JETINATE: For one that is an epic image I put above this text, and for two this is like the most OP power up in all of Mario. Once you get the power of it, you can defeat enemies by just bumping into them! It also makes you faster. It is iconic and 99% more OP than any other power up. 10/10! Also, this is like the definition of "1 UP FARMIN", especially when there's like a horde of those lil' goombas or whatnot. You can get like 3784983 lives with this thing if you channel your inner mario or whatever ICD: Is this not the strongest item in all of Mario, no because it not even close. The invincibility bell and invincibility leaf both dominate this since they have invincibility for longer and its added onto another power-up. The super-star lasts only like 15 seconds before going away. I can't deny that it's one of the OG items, but it is kinda temporary. Like the kirby lollipop. Also this is one of the rare items with no variants.
