How to checkmate with just a king and queen

Wow! you have made it through this game with only your king and queen remaining, and your opponent has only a king! You might be wondering "How do I win?" This is how you do it!

First, keep on making your queen go to a position where if it was a knight, you would have a check. In a little, their king will be frozen to two squares. Next, bring your king over next to your queen! Checkmate! This will only fail if you run out of time (you lose), they take your queen (insufficient material, draw), or they move their king 20 times in a row without a check (threefold, draw).
