Chess - The 2025 Tata Steel Masters (Round 1 (Gukesh survives Rf2 of his own))
The Tata Steel Masters in Wijk Aan Zee commences 2025's first major Chess Tournament. Newly crowned World Champion GM Gukesh D faces off against GM Anish Giri who happened to commentate on many of his games against former champion, GM Ding Liren. From Ding's erroneous Rf2 that earned Gukesh the win, comes this game where Gukesh evades, then ends up capturing on f2 in the endgame, wherein Anish stumbles on a blink and miss knight move that flips tables all the same.
2024 went quite a long way following the Classical World Championship, from Ding sharing his afterthoughts with IM Sagar Shah and reenergizing with Bughouse Chess, to the 2024 Rapid and Blitz Championship with GM Magnus Carlsen's Jeans stealing the highlight of what became a magnetic U turn implying his mid departure and return to said tournament, giving magnetic chess pieces a run for far away from their board's money.
