Week 1:Chess Poems

Here is my first poem for week 1. I hope you enjoy it.

Week 1: Checkmate Love

I walk a mile, you walk a minute 

Pushing our love past its limit 

We could be the King and Queen 

If only you just shared my dream 

Come alive with my desire 

As we walk across the fire 

Dying for just one more chance 

As I slip into the trance 

Sweet illusions of my hope 

That I will never come to know 

Giving in to time gone by 

This is the last time I will try 

Loving more and having less 

Love is just a game of chess 

Checkmate now the game is done 

And the Queen alone has won.
