This was Anna Sergeeva shorty before she died when her flight from Dubai, where she had been working as a beautician, crashed in bad weather at Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
Anna's picture is otherwise unexceptional, not unlike millions of vacation selfies, but to those who were friends, family, and co-workers it is a special memory.
However, it was brought to my attention that this last selfie image had been picked up off the internet and used as an avatar at chess.com. I thought it was in poor taste, as did others.
I posted on the offender's home page, "Stolen identity - classy." Another poster indicated he thought the person with the stolen image was a male troll trying to pass himself off as a young woman.
Unfortunately, that happens a lot here. There are dozens and dozens of such trolls active right now. I laugh at all the poor slobs who get sucked in by the ruse.
Anyway, the thief in question has changed "her" avatar to something more reasonable. Good for "her." But she left me a parting shot ...
