This month marks the 75th anniversary of of the classic film, "Casablanca."

Today, we went to see a restored B&W screening of the film at a nearby theater. Seeing it on a movie theater screen, uninterrupted by television commercials is the way to go.

Casablanca has to be one of my all-time favorite films. The original screenplay was entitled, "Everybody Comes to Rick's," which is also a line in the film dialogue.

Ingrid Bergman is beautiful as Ilsa Lund (-Laszlo). Humphrey Bogart is Rick, turns in an Oscar-worthy performance as an ex-pat American "gin joint" owner. The supporting cast is outstanding, with many of them being Europeans who fled the war.

The banter in the film is priceless. We all know some of the famous lines. Scenes had me alternately laughing and crying.

Casablanca fully deserved the Best Movie Academy Award it won.
