I'm so happy!
I joined Chess.Com in May of this year. I had not played a serious game against a human in over 30 years.
My youngest daughter is in college, so I have a pretty empty nest. And the garden can only occupy so much time.
So I came back to re-visit a "first love." Chess. Not only am I beginning to play well again (though the >1800 players still stomp me!), I have met some of the nicest people.
A couple of teams recruited me, a couple of Administrators trusted me, and now I am helping in any way that I can.
I am in a handful of eclectic teams, ranging from golfers to retirees to international players. Large teams and small teams. Established teams and new teams. All great teams! All great teammates!!

Virdi asked me to be the SA of one of the teams he founded/revitalized, called "The WOLF." It is part of the "Purple Haze" family. Virdi is known for active teams that play lots of matches. "The WOLF" will be no exception.
Way back in my younger days - in the 1970s, if you can believe that - I was a bit of a feminist. I still strongly believe in equal rights and equal opportunity. To that end, I have tried to raise the profile of women in "The WOLF." One of the other SA's is WFM Monika Gedvilaite. And a very nice lady, WGM Natalia Pogonina, is a member too.
Women only account for fewer than 10% of serious chess players. I want to help change that. I want you, my dear readers, to help. That's what keeps me happy.
