Coca Cola Gambit
Coca Cola Gambit (a.k.a. Double Grob Variation) is extremely bad opening in chess because 1. g4 is one of the worst moves for white (along with 1. f3, of course). White loses 1 point of material, but at least opens up the king so it can be attacked sooner
.
If black accepts the gambit, then white is immediately at disadvantage with an engine evaluation of - 0.99 on move 2. Bacisally, it looks like the low budget version of King's Gambit.
Despite it's lack of practical viability, the Coca Cola Gambit has earned recognition on chess platforms like Lichess and Chess.com. It has a meme-worthy status on the internet. But it has never been played on the higher levels due to its unconventional playstyle. It has a dubious reputation because it's a garbage opening.
Personally, for me it's amusing variation. It's fun and challenging to experiment with different handicapped openings and try to equalize.
