Elio Movie Review

My friends, you are about to read the very first Jetplane Movies review for a film I did not applaud at the end of, or stay for the post-credits scene. ( At least I think that's true... eh, nevermind; point is, this is very rare to hear from me, but I did not like this movie; like... at all )

Just to think Pixar went from $1.69B Inside Out 2... to this? What happened?

I should have gone with my initial gut and watched it when it came to Disney+ or just not at all. It's funny how after about 1 whole year of hating on this movie, one week before it actually released was when I thought to myself: "Oh, maybe this could be good".

*Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhh*

Welcome to the Elio movie review.

TABLE OF CONTENTS:
INTRODUCTION | NOTESCONCLUSIONCREDITS

  • Elio's eye patch had really nothing to do with the overall plot; he got it like 1 day before going to the boarding school summer camp thing, then got abducted, then came back, just to take it off; it really served no purpose in being there at all ( Also, the way he got it was not how I thought he would have; just a lousy fight with a bully? Slap a band-aid over it 🤣🤣🤣 )
  • One very important thing parents should note about this movie before going is there were a lot of very scary, very horror-like scenes and some INSANELY weird bits at times for no reason whatsoever so as you can see, it was not childish as I thought it would have been, it was actually very adult; don't know why Pixar did that ( Remember when he chopped off his finger with huge gardening scissors and then it re-generated? 🤣 Yeah that was fun )
    "I felt like I was watching 'Final Destinations: Bloodlines'" - @nbrasington 😆
  • I think I would have liked the scrapped storyline better, tbh ( BREAKDOWN BLOG COMING SOON )
  • This whole movie could have been so much funnier; the "Okay. Bye. I love you." joke was funny at first, then it started getting overused, then they made it all serious and stuff; seriously almost every other joke after that fell short and wasn't delivered right 💩🤷
  • We should have heard about the "other candidate" ( AKA Grigon ) before he threaded everyone and said he was gonna blow them all up or whatever
  • Didn't stay for the P-C scene ( You're lucky I got through the MID-credits scene ) But anyways, I found it on YouTube and why do I wish I could say I saw this on the big screen 🤣🤣🤣

  • These jits need to chill out there were like 0 actual Air/Space Force scenes in the movie 👇🤣

  • People saying Pixar never marketed this film
    Meanwhile, Pixar:

*cOuGh cOuGh*
excuse me ( That one random "Up" short 🤣 )

It took me a long time to realize it, but this movie had tons of potential from the beginning...

I guess some heights just can't be reached.

Jetplane Movies has been such an amazing journey for me. To look back over the years and see my style of writing change has been so fun and it's been such a blessing having all of y'all by my side. Whether this is your first time reading, or you've been a fan since the beginning. I thank you; from the bottom of my heart. This has been a very exciting part of my writing career and I'm so happy with how it's turned out. It's definitely had its ups and downs, (*Cough Cough* The @Jehtt Tribute) but I'm so excited to now be able to share these blogs with the Chess.com community... even though they are ALL about movies. Enjoy!
