Karate Kid: Legends Movie Review
The 2010 reboot of Sony's "The Karate Kid" featuring Will Smith's son, Jaden Smith, and Jackie Chan as the "Miyagi" figure was not gonna lie, a bit of a letdown...
Ah, who am I kidding... it was a huge letdown. Same story, ( Just instead of the MC moving to the City of Angels, he moves to Beijing for some reason ) same characters, ( Dre = Daniel, Mr. Han = Mr. Miyagi, Meiying = Ali, Cheng = Johnny, etc. ) same old, same old. So when I thought about another Karate Kid movie after that??? My expectations weren't very high...
As you can see, my opinion on that changed very quickly... cuz I'm always down for a movie theater experience. 😉🤣
But, no... Karate Kid: Legends was a great, fresh way to revive the Karate Kid films, ( Not the entire franchise 😉😉😉 ) but was also very rushed, and way too short for what it was/what it was supposed to be.............................................................................. that made no sense... did it...? Ehh, whatever.
Welcome to the Karate Kid: Legends movie review.
TABLE OF CONTENTS:
INTRODUCTION | NOTES | CONCLUSION | CREDITS
- MARCO'S PIZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA 😝😝😝
- Chinese Peter Parker; the "Miyagi-Verse"
...I understand it now 😏 ( Sadie Stanley's literally a smaller Hailee Steinfeld hehe 🤣 ) - We should have seen more of that Connor kid in his dojo and also more of his random coach ( Who even was that guy tho fr 🤣 )
- Usually I would never say this while talking about a new movie in 2025, but... this one??? I'm just gonna say it... this one should have been at least 30 minutes longer; I mean... for how rushed almost all of it was??? For sure could have used some extra stuff in there ( But then they probably would have filled it up too much, most likely with loads of garbage so............ maybe it was for the better )
- The whole "2 branches, 1 tree" thing at the beginning ( Talked about by Mr. Miyagi ) was not in any of the og Karate Kid movies... right? ( If not, that was a super dumb tie-in to og and reboot; they could have done that better )
- There was no dramatic scene where one of the sensei's had to heal the student backstage by rubbing their hands together or setting them on fire... or anything 🤣 ( There were no major injuries; that's what I'm trying to point out 😆 )
- Some of the fighting in the last scene just didn't look... real 💩🤣 ( It's hard to explain; just go see the movie and you'll understand... maybe... )
- Would people have even gotten mad if they changed the title to "Kung Fu Kid" or "Boxing Kid" 🤣 ( Anything but "Karate Kid" with these same characters would for sure have started WW3; why am I asking if people would "get mad" 😆😆😆 )
- What Mom says "enjoy your day" tho fr 🤣🤣🤣
- @rbrasington mentioned it first, so I have to give him some credit, but... the whole boxing side-plot really had nothing to do with the overall plot, if you really think about it 🤷
With that being said, Mia and Victor both had much bigger roles than I thought they were going to have in this movie ( Victor especially; he wasn't in like any of the trailers and/or footage we got... then he was the freaking main character for the first hour of the hour and a half long motion picture 🤣 ) - Why did Sony have to get permission from DC to use the title "Karate Kid" 🙏😭 ( I'm being so fr; what universe am I in right now... there's a character in the DC comics with the name "Karate Kid"??? WHICH CAME FIRST?! I'VE BEEN LIVING A LI-
- No post-credits scene making me feel for this kid tho fr:

( No, but frfrfr; that's literally me when I get to the end of an entire hour and a half long Karate Kid movie that really just feels like an hour and a half long Cobra Kai episode without seeing Samantha LaRusso or Robbie Keane even once; Anthony wasn't even in it; what is this low budget filmmmmmmmmm 🤣 )
Now... even though this movie literally had absolutely NOTHING to do with Cobra Kai... let's talk for a second... hear me out...
Season 7..................................................................
*Crickets Crickets*
No? No one? Alright... I'll still be watching... 🤣🤣🤣
