Hello! every one. Today I will talk about the Immortal game. It's an immortal game, and I really like it. The game was played by Adolf Anderssen vs Lionel Kieseritzky in 1851. In which Adolf Anderssen (white) won by checkmate 1-0.

This is their game. Adolf Anderssen is white and Lionel Kieseritzky is black.

1.e4 e5  2.f4  => this is the King's gambit opening. White tries to take out the pawn in the center of Black. For the future, White can play d4 to get a beautiful center.

2...exf4  3.Bc4 Qh4+  4.Kf1  => White lost the chance to castle. But in the future when white plays Nf3, black will lost time.

4...b5?  => I am not sure on the purpose for this move. However, Black wanted to bring white bishop to b5 and might attack this bishop in the future.

5.Bxb5 Nf6  6.Nf3  => white attack the black queen and material on time.

6...Qh6  7.d3 Nh5 => Black threatened to move Ng3+ attacked the King and the rook. And White can not play hxg3 because it will lose the rook with Qxh8.

This is a position after 7...Nh5

8.Nh4  => Defense the Ng3+ move of black by move the knight to block the black queen. If black plays 8...Ng6 9.hxg6, white can take the black knight because the white rook will not be attacked by the black queen

8...Qg5  9.Nf5  => Black attack the white bishop and white knight. But white can play Nf5 move a knight and blocking the black queen. Black queen can not capture the white bishop.

9...c6  10.g4 Nf6  11.Rg1!  => If black capture white bishop after 12.h4 White will have the area in the king side and have a material in time because the black queen will be attacked.

This is a position after 11.Rg1

11...cxb5  => White lose a minor piece but White will get an area quickly after 12. h4

12.h4! Qg6  13.h5 Qg5  14.Qf3 => The next move white threatens to move 15.Bxf4 and black queen Can not escape in a place that is not attacked or 15.e5 attack black knight at f6 and attack black rook at a8.

This is a position after 14.Qf3

14...Ng8  => This is a best move for Kieseritzky. The purpose is to deal with 15.Bxf4, enabling the Queen to have a safe place.

15.Bxf4 Qf6  16.Nc3  => If white play 16.e5 ,black can defense with 16...Qc6.

16...Bc5  17.Nd5  => Black attacks the white queen counterattack. And have the opportunity to move Nc7+ in the future

17...Qxb2  => Black capture the pawn and Threaten to capture the white rook at a1 with check.

This is a position after 17...Qxb2

18.Bd6!  => White move bishop to attack the dark square around the black king. Black cannot be exchanged the bishop because after 18...Bxd6 19.Nxd6+ Kd8 20.Nxf7+ Ke8 21.Nd6+ Kd8 22.Qf8# 1-0

18...Bxg1?  => I think this is a mistake for black. A better move is to 18...Qxa1+ after 19.Ke2 Qb2 20.kd2 Bxg1 and Positions after this are considered unclear because white has fewer pieces. But can control more space And the black king was attacked hard

19. e5!  => This move blocked the Black Queen, unable to defense at g7 square. And threatened to play 20.Nxg7+ Kd8 21.Be7+ in next move. However, it is a very interesting position because the black can capture the rook at a1 with the first check.

This is a position after 19.e5

19...Qxa1+  20.Ke2  => White is at a disadvantage of 2 rooks and 1 Bishop, but controls a lot of space and attacks the Black King heavily.

This is a position after 20.Ke2

20...Na6?  => This move is a blunder because this move is mate in 3 with 21.Nxg7+ Kd8 22.Kf6+ Nxf6 23.Be7#. The best move for Kieseritzky is 20...Ba6 to try to get the Black King to escape to c8, However after 21.Nc7+ Kd8 22.Nxa6 Bb6 23.Qxa8 Qc3 24.Qxb8+ Qc8 25.Qxc8+ Kxc8 26.Bf8 h6 27.Nd6+ Kd8 28.Nxf7+ Ke8 29.Nxh8 Kxf8 white is material in the end game.

21.Nxg7+ Kd8  22.Qf6+! Nxf6  23.Be7# 1-0  => A mistake for black makes white checkmate in 3 moves. In the end, White won with the remaining pieces of only 2 knights and 1 bishop.

So I really liked the game because Adolf Anderssen (white) gave up a lot of pieces to attack the Black King until checkmate was successful.

This is a final position after 23.Be7#

Good luck to everyone.
