In late September, the launch of my second Chessable course, "100 Repertoires: The Spanish Four Knights," filled me with genuine excitement. Choosing this opening for the course was an obvious decision, given my extensive experience in teaching it. Crafting the content to meet Chessable's standards and navigating the constraint of limiting it to just 100 trainable variations proved to be a challenging yet ultimately gratifying endeavor.
I structured the content, uncovered numerous new insights, and fine-tuned existing evaluations—all within the confines of 100 trainable variations and 12 model games.
In the end, my initial belief in the Spanish Four Knights as a suitable opening for players across various skill levels was reaffirmed. Its fundamental configuration encourages standard developing moves, making it more accessible for less experienced players to grasp opening principles. Yet, this doesn't compromise the inherent ambition of striving for an opening advantage.
