A QGD adventure from the USATE
This game occurred in Round 4 of the US Amateur Team. After defending for nearly four hours, I managed to hold the draw.
White opted for the QGD Exchange variation, which is one of those openings where White gets all the chances, and Black often struggles to equalize. White's unambitious 7.Be2 did offer Black early equality, but I was overoptimistic and soon found myself in trouble. At several points the path was quite narrow and the defensive resources involved continuations foreseen by neither player.
