Both Players Should Have Lost
I think the title says it all. This game, which occurred in Round 2 of the Hamilton Chess Club Quads, is not one of my better efforts. My opening preparation delivered a fantastic opportunity, which I proceeded to systematically dismantle. By move 30 I was dead lost, resorting to playing some kind of poker game. In the end I slimed out the win I should have won anyway.
I think this game highlights my tendency to lose focus and disipline at the chessboard. None of the things that occurred on the board were beyond my ability to see. If I can improve my discipline, I will improve.
