How not to defend the Rossolimo Sicilian
The Rossolimo (Sometimes it's called the Nimzo-Rossolimo) Variation of the Sicilian is one of those systems that you must learn how to handle with the Black pieces if you are going to play the Sicilian. Even if you know what you are doing, things can go terribly wrong in a hurry. This game is a great example of how quickly things can cave in even if Black plays thematic moves.
No small part of the reason I lost this game was my attitude during the game. When my opponent played 8.Bg5?!, I figured he was clueless about the theory of this opening and that I'd get easy equality. Well, I was offered several opportunities to gain a great position, but I failed to find them. I got what I deserved.
