Smith-Morra declined via the Alapin: A game from the USAE
The game below is from the US Amateur East, held during Memorial Day Weekend. Though I got good chances, I tried a little too hard with my pair of Bishops, and my advantage evaporated. Though this game slipped into a draw, I remain optimistic about Black's chances in this line. For reference, here is an earlier game that I played in 2009 http://blog.chess.com/Jpatrick/more-smith-morra-declined
So far I'm content with my results in this line. It's good enough to score points and half points against "a" and "b" players. Maybe higher. Still, maybe it's time to start using one of the main lines again.
