US Amateur Team East Round 1
This year, I was board two on a team with an average rating of 1800. We got paired up in the first round, and my opponent was FM Rodion Rubenchik. I was a little overmatched, but still, I shouldn't have gone down this quickly.
The opening transposed into a Catalan, and then later into a Queen's Indian. I got the wrong idea on move 12, and the game was over 5 moves later. Quite often, Black doesn't have many good choices in the Queen's Indian. This game is a good case in point.
