I would like to welcome you all. Those of you who are here will participate in five different games. Those who win all five games will be rewarded with a large sum of Elo. You all believed us and volunteered to participate in this game without any coercion. However, I will give you one last chance to choose. Do you want to return to your chaotic games where your opponents tear you apart, or do you want to take advantage of this opportunity we are offering you?

What you are looking at now is the piggy bank that will hold the juicy prize. This is where the prize pool is accumulated after each game. The prize pool is 4560 Elo points. We will let you know after the first game how the prize pool will be distributed. In this edition, we will offer you a special advantage that we have never offered before: at the end of each game, you will be able to vote on whether you want to end the game or continue playing. If the majority vote to stop the game, the game will stop. You can take the accumulated prize pool and leave here.

Players who win the position before time runs out will advance to the next round. However, players who draw or lose will be eliminated. Second game

Welcome to the second game, let's get started. In this game we're going to test your memory. You'll have a few minutes to memorise a position. Once you've memorised it, we'll give you new instructions.

Third game

Welcome to the third round, players. For this round you will be playing in pairs. The rules are very simple, each pair of players has to play one game of chess. The winner will advance to the next round and the loser will be eliminated. If there is a draw, both players are eliminated. You have 5 minutes to pair up, and players who have not found an opponent by the end of the time limit will be eliminated.

You realise that there are an odd number of players left and if you do not find a partner you will be eliminated without even playing. You have to choose an opponent as soon as possible and it must not be a very strong player, otherwise you will also be eliminated.

Suddenly you remember that on the first day you watched some players play and that they had different levels of play. You try to remember the games so that you can choose the weakest player and face him. You can only remember the first moves, but you hope it will be enough to make a good decision.

Fourth game

Hiding was a very good idea as many of the players had weapons while you were not ready to fight. From now on, you must be very careful to avoid being attacked by other players.

Attention players, the fourth game is about to begin, but first I would like to announce that 22 players have been eliminated tonight. We will add up their scores at the end of the round. We are now ready to start the fourth game. In this round, each player will play 42 games simultaneously. Each player will make one move on one board and then move to the next board to start the next game. Players who are checkmated are eliminated, and those who make the last move to checkmate advance to the next round. Players, take your places on the boards as the games are about to begin.

The games begin and you move around the boards. It is very difficult to see so many positions and you have to be careful that a player does not leave you in a losing position. Suddenly you see that you can force a checkmate on your board, eliminating the player behind you. You are playing with the black pieces and you have to choose the move that allows white to checkmate in one move.

Fifth game

Welcome players to the final game of this edition of the Squid Chess Game. I would like to congratulate you all for making it this far. Of the 456 players who started this adventure, only 42 remain. You are now just one step away from taking home your prize. All players who complete this game will share the prize equally and those who fail will be eliminated. I wish you all the best of luck and let the game begin.

In this final game, we will show you the beginning of a famous chess match between two of the best players in the world. Each of you will choose a piece from the board. If your chosen piece is captured during the game, you will be eliminated. However, if your piece remains on the board until the end of the game, you win. Below I show you the first moves of the game.

Second game

The position you had to memorise was from a game in which white was losing. However, black's next move is a mistake that gives you the chance to turn the game around. Now, without being able to see the board, you have to decide which move will win the game. If you get it right, you go on to the next round, if you get it wrong, you are eliminated.

Fourth game

You have not seen a mate in one and the game continues. You continue for a few more moves, looking for a game in which you can make the next player lose or win your own. Suddenly you look around and see that there is only you and one other player left, whoever wins this game will continue and the loser will be eliminated. You have very few seconds left on the clock, so you have to move or you will lose on time. The game is very complex and you realise that your opponent may have made a mistake.

Fourth game

You have all made it through the first game. Congratulations. I'm going to announce the results of the first game. Out of 456 players, 91 have been eliminated and 365 have survived the first game. Again, congratulations to all of you who made it through the game. We respect your right to choose what you want to do. But before we vote, let me reveal the prize pool rating.

91 players were eliminated in the first game, for a total prize of 910 Elo points. If you quit now, the 365 remaining players can split the 910 points equally and leave. That's 2.5 points for each.

If this doesn't seem like enough, remember that the next time you play, the prize will be increased by that amount if more players are eliminated. As I've already mentioned, if only one player makes it to the end, he will receive the total prize of 4560 Elo points. And I remind you that after each game we will vote again to see if you want to continue or leave. So let's start the voting. It can't be that in this tense moment they are able to play as if nothing is happening. You decide to go and have a look at the games, as it might give you an idea of what your opponents are like.

This last vote was much more evenly split and the players were becoming increasingly nervous. They look around and see small groups forming in the room. You decide to approach one of the groups, thinking that being alone could be a big disadvantage. The tests are getting more complicated and you could be the next to be eliminated.
