My last OTB chess tournament!

In my blogs,I usually show games of popular chess players,super GMs,review tournaments,etc,etc...

But I have never said something about myself... 

In this blog,Im going to show you some of my games from my last Over-The-Board (OTB) tournament which helped me to get my 3rd chess rank .Also I'll tell a bit about my chess 'career', Lets go!

When and how I started playing chess?

So I started playing when I was 6 years old,because in Armenia,we study chess at middle-school. But to be honest,I wasn't that fond of chess that times. But suddenly,I started learning chess and months by months I was improving my skills. For 3 years of my studying,I was going only to School-Team olympiads (they were organized by chess academy of armenia). Of course,I wasn't scoring so much there for my team. As I'm girl,I was playing there on the 4th board.In one day,we were playing 6 games (time control was rapid) and after the 6-7 hours of playing ,which team had the most points were winning and qualifying for the bigger event which included the whole Armenia. So I played there for 5 years. And one time we was even on the second place! However,we had only 1 super strong player on the first board,who won every single game in 2019 and made a draw only one time.But personally,I was not scoring that much there  (2016-2019 years.)

As I mentioned before,from 2015 to 2018 I was not playing any OTB tournaments despite that olympiad once a year. But that all changed in 2019,when school changed their chess teacher.

And that teacher saw something in me and offered my grandpa (as I was practising with him a lot )to go to rank tournaments.

And in 2019 I went for my first tournament for 4th rank. I had to score 6.5 points out of 8 to have my 4th rank.(that time I was 10 years old girl) But unfortunately,I got only 6/8 and didnt get my 4th rank. 

2 months after ,I tried one more time and got finally my 4th rank.

After 3 months of practising,I went for tournament already for 3rd rank. But heartbreakingly I didn't get it. Why heartbreaking?
Well, to get my 3rd rank I had to score 6/8 to get it. In the last 8th round,I had 5.5/7 .

But,on the 7th round,I was playing with that school's director's friends child. And more than 15 people(that child's dad,director and their friends) were spactating that child how he's fighting with little girl=me.

In the opening and middlegame,I was losing,that child even stood up and started smiling (I remember that so well) and even half of people(including director) went ,because they thought that I'll lose. But magiclly, I could somehow defeat that child. As I mentioned before,I was only 10. And when that child understood that he's losing,director came back,let him to go out and cry to his dad,etc,etc. And I didnt know what to do,because he just went and came back 15 minutes later. My grandpa,who was coming with me every time was really proud of me. So when that child came back,he resigned. So many angry faces looked at me and even after the game,that director checked our game.

So after that win,I needed only 0.5 points to get my 3rd rank. And I knew that only one person is strong there.But I was relaxed,as I knew that I just have no chance to play with him as that guy had 7/7,I had 5.5/7, he had to play with white,I had to do the same. And I was playing on the 8th board and he was playing on the 1st. Also one thing also that made me relax that day was that so many people had 6.5/7 points,6/7 points. So no chances that I had to play with him. 

And what was my surprise,when in the evening of that day I saw the pairings... And you know what? I had to play with him in the last round...

First,I was broken psychologly... I knew that he is much older than I am and I knew that he is strong. And psychological fact was the reason of my lose to him.. Yeah,I lost... My grandpa was so angry because he understood that director paired me with him,not computer... 

So after that loss, I quit chess. I just stopped playing chess for almost 3 years...

And I just didn't want to come back,as that last tournament broke me.

But,this year,our school changed the teacher again,and well,Im not studying chess at school anymore,but we have after school activities at school. And I decided that it's time to "come back".. That teacher is coaching me now too) And he is organizing tournaments and online lessons. 

Luckily,I decided to come back,when 2021 world chess championship was going) That,especially Magnus Carlsen, inspired me one more time to get back to chess. 

So I came back in the end of 2021,after the 2-3 year break.

This year,I played in 2 tournaments,One was the school olympiad,where I scored 6/6 points. And the other was tournament for 3rd rank,where I scored 7/8 points( I made a draw 2 times and won 6 games) and finally got my rank. So in this blog,Im going to show you my 1-3 games played there.Lets go!!

Game 1/Round 1

Elina Soghomonyan - Alex Kianosyan

So this game was my first one in this tournament. To be honest,my opponent wasn't that strong. According to stockfish, I could win already on the 7th move,If I found 7.Ne5,sacrificing a queen to checkmate,I would win. But unfortunately,Im not stockfish,so I defeated my opponent with another tactic.Here is the game:

Game 2/Round 2

Artyom Xacheryan - Elina Soghomonyan

This game was so interesting. Here I didnt play that well,but anyway earned 89% of accuracy. In the end,I was rook up.When there was already mate in 1 move,my opponent resigned.

Game 3/Round 8

This game was the last one in this tournament. Before this,I had 6/7,so i got my 3rd rank before. So last round I was already relaxed.But anyway I could defeat my opponent in 78 moves.(I dont know how I mate him as I can't find the other part of screenshot of paper so here you'll se only 69 moves)
