Hi chess.com friends, it's me @KDK_FanRepairs1009!! wink

Have you ever wished to defeat someone who is much higher rated than you? If so, this blog is the perfect blog for you! blogs

I would like to remind you all that the Agent Chess Bot will not be in chess.com for a long time, so please hurry if you want to pull off the win and show off to your friends! happy.png

I am proud to announce that I've found the secret algorithm to defeat this chess bot! There are only a couple of exceptions which I will mention as we go along the flow. thumbup

Here are the first few criteria to take note of:

  1. Must play with the white pieces. wk
  2. Requires opening preparation archive
  3. Able to understand the idea behind each move in the main line playhand
  4. Able to convert an endgame of significant material advantage draw
  5. The first 8 moves in the opening MUST match the sequence of moves below openings

Main line in the opening

1. e4      e5          2. Nf3     Qf6        3. Bc4       Qh6      4. Nxe5    Qg5

5. Qf3   Nh6      6. Nxf7   Nxf7     7. Qxf7+   Kd8      8. O-O      Qe7

Agent Chess is programmed to play this main line around 30-50% of the time! The next criteria is surely you have to try your best and memorise this line. wink

Main line in the middle game

This is where things start to get a little tricky! But please do not worry, as this bot is programmed to play the next 16 moves >70% of the time! It is simply insane! blitz

9. Qf3   Nc6     10. Nc3   Ne5     11. Qg3  Nxc4     12. d3   h6

13. Nd5   Qc5     14. dxc4   Qxc4     15. Qh4+   Ke8     16. Qh5+   Kd8

17. Bg5+   hxg5     18. Qxh8   Ke8     19. Qh5+   Kd8     20. Qxg5+   Ke8

21. Qg6+   Kd8     22. Qf7   Qc5     23. b4   Qd6     24. e5   Qxb4

Converting the endgame into a victory

And finally, take a sigh of relief or savour the moment before playing Nxb4! I have repeated this countless times as it is just so satisfying! What a game! thumbup

From this point onwards, there're so many ways to win this game. For beginners, if the pawn on g7 is free, just capture it and push your g- and h-pawns in order to promote them into queens! But please do not hang any of your pieces or else you might end up losing instead! It is actually really straightforward, you know. gold

For advanced players, develop the rooks to the d- and e-files and go for an immediate checkmate! Here're some examples from my own games. archive

Example #1

25. Nxb4   Bxb4     26. Rad1   d6     27. e6       Bxe6     28. Qxe6   Rc8

29. Rfe1    Bxe1     30. Rxe1    g5     31. Qe7#   1-0

Example #2

25. Nxb4     Bxb4     26. Rad1   d6         27. e6          Bxe6     28. Qxe6   c6

29. Rxd6+   Kc7       30. Rd7+   Kb6       31. Qb3       Ka5       32. c3        Bc5

33. Rxb7     Re8        34. Rb4     Bxb4     35. Qxb4+   Ka6      36. Rb1     Re1+

37. Rxe1      g6         38. Rb1      g5        39. Qa3#      1-0

Example #3

25. Nxb4   Bxb4     26. Rad1    c6       27. Rxd7+   Bxd7     28. Rd1     Be7

29. e6        Kc7       30. Qxe7    b5       31. Rxd7+   Kb6       32. Rb7+   Ka6

33. Qc7      c5         34. Qc6+   Ka5     35. Qxb5#   1-0

Finding a quick checkmate is so easy as black's pieces are stuck behind a wall of pawns. The rook is simply trapped in the corner of the board! It is nearly impossible for black to activate the rook on time and rescue the black king. br live

Possible side lines from the main line

There are myriads of possible moves the Agent Chess bot could play. It is impossible for me to cover every single side line. That's why I will go through some of the possible moves, just in case you are struck with a different move. It is helpful to remember that the winning idea is usually very similar to the main line. wink

Of course, the first eight moves of the game are absolutely fixed so I will not waste your time by going through the rest of the possible opening lines. openings

Hold on! On move 8, black has the option of playing Nc6 instead of Qe7. If you are ready for a challenge and willing to push your boundaries, stay tuned to my next blog! I will show you various lines which you might face in GREAT detail. blogs

But if you are just a beginner who just crave the feeling of beating the bot using 'your own skill', I guarantee that there's a very high chance the first 25 moves of the main line will happen on your very first try! thumbup

Between moves 9 to 13, there is the tiniest chance a different move will be played. If the bot suddenly decides to move something out of the ordinary, you shouldn't groan but instead applaud your own unluckiness! resign

On move 14 of the main line, instead of Qxc4, if the bot plays b6 or a5 against you, don't panic! Play Be3 first to deflect the queen from the a3-h8 diagonal. On the next move, after the queen is deflected, simply play Qh4+ and the game goes on exactly the same as the main line, just one extra move! playhand

If the bot plays Rh7, you can still play Be3. However, after the queen is deflected, the following line won't match the main line, now that the rook is on h7 instead of h8! You can still apply the idea of sacrificing the bishop for the rook, but it's only a +4 advantage so you have to be really careful. explorer

The only move which spells terrible luck is the move d6 on move 14. It is indeed the best move and things will get very complicated. I suggest you to just start over again. Sorry! happy

Let's move on to move 18 of the main line. Here, instead of the move Ke8, the bot might try the interesting idea of Qc5! I got hit by this move only once in 1000 games! However, it is a blunder and it actually makes your life much easier. Just calmly skip to the 23rd move of the main line and play b4, when after the Qxb4 you simply recapture the queen with your knight! wn

If the queen tries to run to d6, play e5 to deflect the queen again! Now the queen has no where good to hide as you are threatening to capture the hanging bishop with checkmate. The bot will either play Qxb4 or Qe7 and you just capture the queen with your knight. Congrats, the bot went for a different move but you captured his queen anyways! Below shows an example: bq

18. Qxh8   Qc5      19. b4         Qe7             20. Nxe7   Kxe7     21. f4          d6

22. fxg5    Be6       23. g6         c5                24. bxc5    Re8       25. cxd6+   Kxd6

26. Rxf8    Rxf8     27. Qxf8+   white wins

We will move on to move 19, where instead of Kd8, the bot might play g6 and attempt to delay your checks. It is absolutely pointless as you are simply going to capture on g6 and continue with the same plan according to the main line, just a one move delay! But you see, it's actually not that simple so I'm going to show you an example. articles

19. Qh5+   g6         20. Qxg6+   Kd8            21. Qxg5+   Ke8       22. Qg6+   Kd8

23. Qf7      Qc5       24. b4          Qd6            25. e5          Qh6       26. e6         dxe6

27. Nf6     Qxf6      28. Qxf6+   white wins

Needless to say, if the bot dares to play Qd6 on move 23, strike with e5! This move attempts to deflect the queen away from defending the bishop so the only good option is to play Qxb4. There goes his queen! wink
