My fellow Chess enthusiasts,

I implore you to support Chicago's bid to host the World Chess Olympiad in 2016.

You may ask, "Why Chicago?" I respond that so far NO city in America has ever had the opportunity to host the Olympiad. Chicago with its economic and cultural diversity is well suited to welcome the World's Chess community.

Chicago has a history of hosting chess tournments. In 1983 Chicago hosted the World Youth Team Championship, hosted the Pan American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championship in 1968, 1970, 1978 and 1999. Chicago has also hosted the U.S Open 14 times between the years of 1903 and present. Chicago is also home to one of the most attended chess tournaments in the United States, The Chicago Open!

Not to mention that Chicago is the birthplace of one of the greatest Chess Champions ever, Bobby Fischer!

So please support the bid. To do so click here and add you name to the support list. No donation is required.
