Second Tournament a success!

The second tournament well much better. We opened on time, lots of preregistrations, good games and lots of fun. Once again thank you to John and Terry of "A Place for Us." and their proving such great food.

This time we had more players with lots of new faces. We were pleased to see Victoria Bian who recently finished 10th at the Susan Polgar National Invitational for Girls. We were also visited by Chicago State University team Captain William Blackman. The new faces were excited to see the nice venue and to have food close by.

Mr. Blackman finished the day with a score of 3.5 out of 4 tying for first place with Dr. Mikhail Korenman.  Ms. Bian tied for second with William "Wick" Deer who drove in from Indiana.

Our next tournament is on September 26th and we hope to be in our new building by then. It is right across the street from "A Place For Us" and they will be the Skittles area. We plan on having the pairings on the big screen T.V. and cameras on the top boards so that the spectators will be able to keep up with the action.

Here are my games for all to see.

Round 1.

Round 2.

I resigned. I can attest that pain meds and chess do not mix. My opponent played e4 and I swear he did d4. I played e5 when I meant to play e6 "French". I somehow jumped my Knight with my Bishop...

Round 3.

Took a BYE, went home relaxed for a moment came back a little more aware.

Round 4
