Traps to Know!

Hello my Chess Friends,

As you may know, if you read my blogs, I like to play the Vienna opening. It lends itself to Legall's Mate which is why I feel it is very important to share with you.

First off let's look at Legall's Mate. It comes from one of Legall's game from the mid 1800's

Another example comes from Bruce Pandolfini's "Zaps and Traps"

And now for why we should know Legall's Mate. I usually do not try it during a long game but a quick 5 minute game is perfect for it.

So as you can see my studying paid off and I was able to quickly finish off my opponent.
