Drawish is the new decisive
After playing chess for about a year now, I have stumbled upon a great inconsistency in my play. I used to be very agressive and daring. But when I combine two of my three USCF tournaments during that era, I get 8 draws, 5 wins, and no losses. I played very agressive openings during that period. e4, the Sicilian, Poisoned Pawn French, and the Burris Gambit. Lately, I have been turning toward positional openings such as the Caro-Kann, QGD, Rubinstein French, and d4. For some reason, I have yet to draw when I play those openings in tournaments. I have a decisive result every time. This is a major inconsistency. Why do you think this is?
