Ventzislav Inkiov (Bulgarian: Венцислав Инкьов; born 19 May 1956) is a Bulgarian chess Grandmaster (1982), Bulgarian Chess Championship winner (1982). He is one of five Grandmasters who were born on this day, May 19th, in Chess History. The others are:

  1. Jonathan Parker of England, born in 1976, he received his Gm title in the year 2000.
  2. Sergei Azarov of Belarus was born on this day in 1983 and became a GM in 2003.
  3. Hovhannes Gabuzyan of Armenia was born in 1995 and recieved the GM title in 2012.
  4. Lance Henderson de la Fuente of Spain was was born in 2003 and became a GM just last year in 2019.

From the 1980s to the 2000s, Ventzislav Inkiov was one of the leading Bulgaria chess players. He won Bulgarian Chess Championship in 1982. He earned silver (1977, 1980, 1984, 1989) and bronze (1981) medals in other Bulgarian Chess Championship events.

Ventzislav Inkiov won or shared the 1st place in many international chess tournaments, including Łódź (1978), Niš (1983), Varna (1985), Clichy (1999), Bois-Colombes (1999), Robecchetto con Induno (2000), Rijeka (2001), Plancoët (2001), Condom (2002), Le Touquet (2002), Bad Neustadt (2003), Guingamp (2004), Schwäbisch Gmünd (2006).

Ventzislav Inkiov represented Bulgaria in the Chess Olympiads in 1978, and 1982-1990. He also represented Bulgaria at the European Team Chess Championships in 1980, 1983 and 1989. Likewise, he played for Bulgaria in the Men's Chess Balkaniads in in 1973 (winning team gold and individual silver), 1978 (winning team bronze and individual gold), 1979 (team silver, individual gold), 1980 (team bronze, individual silver), 1981 (team bronze, individual silver), 1982 (team silver, individual bronze), 1983 (team gold AND individual gold) 1985 (team bronze, individual gold), 1986 (team gold, individual bronze) and 1988 (team gold and individual bronze).
