MY DREAM FINALLY CAME TO VISON
Hey, guys, welcome to my blog. Today, I'm going to tell you the best thing that happened in my chess life. Here is what had happened. This tournament is a Swiss round, meaning there is one game every week. So my rating is 1599 after Icea, that's what my rating was based on.
At the start of June, the Santa Monica Chess Club hosted a club championship tournament, so I joined. Remember when I forfeited because you got to be 1500, but at this time, it didn't matter.
When the first round occurred, they held raffles throughout the tournament, which was enjoyable. Now let's jump into our game.
Game 1: Youngjun Choi 1599 vs 1600 Han Gunn ( LOL one point away)
That was a lucky win. So, I thought prepping for black because I was white in the first round. I was wrong!
Game 2: Youngjun Choi 1599 vs Farhad Shahmohammadi 1648
So, I am two out of two, which means I have advanced to the semi-finals. Here, there were only four people who had two points. Their rating was 1985, 1896, 1692, and 1599 me! The pairing came up, and it was me against 1896!
Game 3: Pierre Espenana 1896 vs Youngjun Choi 1599
Now I am in the finals. After a day, the standing came up and my friend Dominic won against a 1985! So we were playing each other. I talked to my friend who is TD and said I will play white so that I will prep for white. See, if I draw or win, I become 1700, and if I lose, I become 1682. I planned to either draw or win.
Game 4: Youngjun Choi 1599 vs Dominic Kuperman 1692
I became a 1732 after this tournament! Now I only have 68 points to 1800. I want to thank my friend! Gary, Logan, Jake, and the people who supported me. When this year started, I had two goals: 1700 and 1800, and I reached my first goal in 6 months. I began at 1200, but now I am 1700.
Conculsion
I think I'm going on a break for a chess tournament and will return to the Pacific Southwest, as I attend a chess tournament every week, so I'm taking a break. I'm creating a blog that's both funny and informative, where you can learn something new. Thank you!
I am signing off.
