The Beautiful World of Chess
To some people chess is boring. A game where two people stare at a board of hand carved wooden figurines, while nothing happens. To me though, chess is beautiful despite being so hard to appreciate. Learning the language of chess is hard work but well worth the effort. The poetry of the chess board in the hands of a master can sing with the graceful cadences of a canary and yet maintain a sense of raw power that inspires awe. To play chess is to chase a moment, one brief and fragile moment, where the universe ceases to be and beauty is revealed through your play. To create a masterpiece where science, art and intuition meld together and become one.
