Hi everyone! This is @Knightmaster2008 with a new weekly blog! Today I will show you 5 cool gambits that YOU can try and are easy to learn and use in a real game. If you want more posts like this, make sure you follow me, and send me a friend request, I will gladly accept!

So now, here they are.

#5. Laser Gambit Trap

The Laser Gambit (Englund Gambit, Knight Sacrifice) is a misleading opening in which the Black player sacrifices 7 points worth of pieces to trap the opponent's queen.

The moves consist of this:

Some people would argue that Nc3 is the best move for the 3rd line, but Nf3 is still commonly played.

#4. Halloween Gambit

This gambit is a very aggressive opening that seems as a blunder at first, but can earn good position later. The moves consist of a knight sacrifice.

This opening is risky when not played correctly. Watch out when playing this!

#3. Danish Gambit

This gambit will sacrifice tons of pawns, but in the end provide great checks for White. The opening lines mutilate the queenside structure, but create a great offensive position.

Following this, the Nordic trap may follow with White playing Nc3 after a bishop check.

#2. The Bongcloud Opening

How could we forget this absolute classic! The Bongcloud is one of my favorite openings, and this list would not be complete without it. Here is the simple line:

The Bongcloud was used in one of my games on l*chess.org. I won (1178 rated blitz game)! The Queen line (3. Qe1) can put a fast check on the Black king after a pawn sacrifice such as 5. d4 (following 4. Kd1.)

#1. Icelandic Defense Gambit

This is a long-known gambit played in master games. This is the only trap for Black on the list, and it is by far the best in my opinion. The bishop development following the capture line creates good space and position for black, and disposition for White.

I also used this in one of games on l*chess.org and won! The opponent fell into the trap and had quite a disposition.
