International Chess Day will be celebrated on July 20th, 2025. 

This day commemorates the founding of the UI International Chess Federation (FIDE) in 1924. The United Nations officially recognized International Chess Day in 2019.

In 2025, FIDE has chosen the theme " Every Move Counts " for International Chess Day. This theme emphasizes the idea that every decision made, whether on the chess board or in life, shapes our journey.

3. " Teach Someone to Play Chess " initiative: This initiative encourages chess enthusiasts to introduce others to the game and share their passion.

4. Over-the-Board Events: FIDE is also promoting local over-the-board chess events worldwide on July 20th, with a focus on inclusion and participation from diverse communities.
