Playing IM Anna Rudolf, GM Hess, and NM Sam Copeland- ANALYZED GAMES, PART ONE

Hello everyone!

As promised, I am putting analyzed versions of my games against masters here!  They'll come out one at a time, because of the time constraints of analyzing a game well and such, but they should all be coming soon.  So today, I give you an analyzed game of my game against GM Robert Hess!

The time control was 3|0 blitz, and I think that this was by far my best game against a titled player ever (not that I have many of those... ). For most of the game, I had great drawing chances, and never really made any mistakes- just a few inaccuracies here and there that added up to let my opponent get a winning edge.

For those of you who want to get an idea of when these next blogs might be coming out, my rough schedule is- analyzed game with NM Sam Copeland + analyzed game with IM Anna Rudolf in Fog of War as a bonus, sometime this week.  Analyzed games against NM Sam Copeland, next week and the week after.  Knights in the opening, bishops, and rooks, the week after that.  Queen, king, and pawn, week after that.  After that... I have some ideas that I might sprinkle into the other blogs as bonuses, or put into their own blogs, mainly based off of my own games that I have recently played and found instructive.

ANYWAY, here you go!

Of course, I realize that it's been a while since I put out a blog, and one game is probably not sufficient apology.  So, I give you another.  What do you do when your opponent trolls you?  This was the 6th (I think) game in a match I played against another player on chess.com; the score was tied 2.5-2.5, and... 1.b4?! was played?!  Obviously, I was thrown for a loop for just a second, but I remembered the great chess wisdom- when your opponent trolls you, troll them back!  I copied their opening for 19 moves before deviating, and was rather proud of how it all worked out, in the opening at least, where I had a strong position right out of the gate.  I proceeded to blunder mate in the end, but I hope that the good position I got can teach you the value of trolling all opponents back who troll you!

And I think that's it, because I've got to go get some homework done.  Good luck everyone, and keep on playing chess!
