How to use Chess.com and Lichess together

One of the biggest debates in the chess community is about which website is better: Chess.com or Lichess. I believe that using both websites together can be much more beneficial than just sticking to one website. Here are some categories of the online chess experience, and whether Chess.com or Lichess is better for that category.

Matchmaking

Both websites offer a wide range of time controls, ranging from 30 second hyperbullet to 2 hour classical games. However, Chess.com has a larger player base, which means that you can find opponents closer to your rating much faster.

Variants

Both websites have the ability to play variants, or versions of the game that have their rules modified. Although Chess.com has a ton of variants compared to Lichess, none of the Chess.com variants are available on the mobile app.

Chess.com wins if on desktop, Lichess wins if on mobile.

Puzzles

Both websites offer puzzles, but Chess.com has a limit for free users on the number of puzzles per day you can do. Lichess on the other hand has unlimited puzzles for free. Also, Lichess offers 50 offline puzzles compared to Chess.com's 3.

Bots

Chess.com has dozens of bots available for even free users, ranging from Martin, a complete patzer, to the Maximum bot that can play better than grandmasters. They also have a selection of monthly bots with a theme, such as Clash of Clans or dogs. Lichess only offers 8 bots, but you can play chess variants with the bots. Both websites allow you to set a custom position to play against.
