Chess Variant Idea: “Deployment Chess”
After playing bughouse I realized that it would be great to place pieces on the board, not the pieces that were captured. For example, a queen is 9 points. Instead of placing the captured queen, the Deployment Chess Variant would allow to place 9 pawns instead.

Rules
The rules of Deployment Chess are simple:
- Deployment Chess uses all of the chess rules.
- Each turn both players earn 1 Deployment Point-a point that allows to deploy piece squads.
- Every material point from captured pieces is converted into Deployment Points.
- The game is played on a XXL chessboard.
- A player wins when they checkmate their opponent.
- When a player hasn’t got enough Deployment Points to deploy a Piece Squad (PS) they can use 2 Deployment Points (DP) to deploy a single piece.
- A PS is a group of 2-10 pieces and pawns.
- A Legion (L) is a group of 10-20 pieces. Legions are unlocked (for a game) by paying 10 Deployment Points.
