Amazon, Chancellor, Archbishop, General…who are they? Today I‘ll show you fairy pieces, their moves and their names. The first piece: Amazon.
Combines a queen and knight. If a queen is worth 9 points and a knight is worth 3 points, the Amazon is worth 12 points. When noting moves, the Amazon is marked „A“. How it moves:
The Chancellor
Combines a rook and knight. Worth 9 points. Marked „E“. Moves:
The Archbishop
Combines bishop and knight. Worth 6 points. Marked „H“. Moves:
General
Combines king and knight. 6 points worth. Marked „M“. Moves:
Camel
An elongated 3-1 knight. 3 points. Marked „C“. Moves:
Wildebeest
Combines camel and knight. 6 points. Marked „V“. Moves:
Grasshopper
Jumps in any direction, hopping over the first piece, jumping behind it. 5 points worth. Marked „G“. Moves:
Ferz
Moves one square diagonally. 3 points. Marked „F“. Moves:
Wazir
Moves one square and horizontally and vertically. Worth 3 points. Marked „W“. Moves:
Alfil
Jumps two squares diagonally. 4 points. Marked „l“. Moves:
Dabbaba
Jumps two squares horizontally or vertically. 4 points. Marked „S“. Moves:
Alibaba
Moves like an Alfil and Dabbaba. Worth 8 points. Marked „Y“. Moves:
Xiangqi Horse
Moves one square orthogonally and one diagonally. It cannot jump over other pieces.
Three points worth. Marked „U“. Moves:
Berolina
A pawn that moves diagonally and captures forwards. Worth one point. Marked „a“. Moves:
Soldier
A Soldier is a pawn that moves and captured forwards only. Worth 1 point. Marked „ß“. Moves:
Knight-Rider
Moves like a knight, but doubly. Worth 6 points. Marked „0“. Moves:
Camel-Rider
Moves like a camel, but doubly. Worth 6 points. Marked „L“. Moves:
Alfil-Rider
Moves doubly like an Alfil. Worth 8 points. Marked „J“. Moves:
Dabbaba-Rider
Moves like a Dabbaba, but doubly. Worth 8 points. Marked „T“. Moves:
Alibaba-Rider
Moves doubly like an Alibaba. Worth 16 points. Marked „Z“. Moves:
Dragon Bishop
Combines a bishop and Xiangqi Horse. Worth 5 points. Marked „∆“. Moves:
Stone General
A pawn that moves and captures diagonally. Worth 1 point. Marked „¥“. Moves:
Sergeant
A pawn that moves and captures diagonally. Worth 1 point. Marked „∂“. Moves:
Blocking Blocks
Brick
Blocks pieces. Knights can jump over it. Marked „X“.
Duck
Same as a brick. Marked „®“.
