Today I’ll mention the famous Queen’s Gambit. This is it:

The player with the black pieces can Accept or Decline. This is Queen’s Gambit Accepted:

It is not a good idea to accept because you will lose the center:

Black can’t break through easily:

White can also win with another set of moves:

If we know how to accept, let’s learn how to decline.

This is the classical Queen’s Gambit Declined position. What about the Austrian Variation?

The variation isn’t bad:

White needs to be careful to not overwork their pieces. What about the Zilbermints Variation?

Black, be careful!

The risky Albin Countergambit is here!

Black tries to distract white. Will it always work?

No! You can also sacrifice a pawn:

What about Chigorin Defense?

Is it dangerous?

A knight is worth only 3 points…

The pawn-ish Slav Defence leaps out of the opening book:

What can you do here?

Th Marshall’s Knight is here: Marshall Defense:

How to continue?

This defense is good for black. Here is a position I invented: Queen’s Gambit Declined: The Lance Knight.
