The Atlantic Chess Association is organizing the Independence Day Norm Tournament. It is a 6 day, 9 rounds, 10 player Round Robin tournament. 

Lesser titles or norms (IM, WGM, WIM, FM) are also possible.

Timeline:

Saturday June 29 - Round 1 (5 PM)

Sunday June 30 - Round 2 (10 AM), Round 3 (5 PM) 

Monday July 01 - Round 4 (10 AM), Round 5 (5 PM)

Tuesday July 02 - Round 6 (10 AM)

Wednesday July 03 - Round 7 (10 AM), Round 8 (5 PM) 

Thursday July 04 - Round 9 (9 AM)


Venue: Hampton Inn & Suites Washington-Dulles International Airport (4050 Westfax Dr., Chantilly, VA 20151)

The hotel has free parking as well as a free shuttle to the Washington-Dulles International Airport.

All US players must be in good standing with USCF, all foreign players with their federations and their federations with FIDE.

Norm seekers with higher ratings are more likely to be included. If there is enough interest, we are considering hosting an IM norm tournament as well on the same dates. Please send an email with the same information as above if interested.

Entry Fees: $850, $650 for foreign norm seekers

If you are selected to play, you must send payment within 5 business days. Failure to do so will be considered withdrawal from the tournament.

No byes, no exceptions.
