Nimzowitsch-Larsen Attack

Hello guys,I am up with a new blog.Today we’ll discuss about the Nimzowitsch-Larsen Attack, also known as Queen’s Fianchetto Opening or simply Larsen Attack. It starts with 1.b4,continued by Bb2 to fianchetto our dark square bishop. Here’s a game of mine featuring the Nimzowitsch-Larsen Attack(on the top). Here, black thought NxR will save the Qg8 mate but he/she didn’t check out the Qh8#.Similarly this playing this opening may earn you a victory. If not a victory, atleast a good position. You can also play f4 instead of c4 but then you need to get rid of your d3 pawn. Our main intention here is to gain the bishop-pair advantage because one of our bishops(the dark squared one)point down the black king.If you’re not able to gain it,try to have one bishop-one knight in the endgame as the bishop will attack the opponent’s queen-side and our knight will destroy his/her king-side.Also,try not to exchange your dark square bishop. And,if possible, try to fianchetto your light square bishop if you aren’t able to exchange it.Here is a reason why our light square bishop is not useful-

Our pawns will be on light squares so it won’t let our bishop control most of the squares. Also it is not aiming down the black’s king, hence it’s useless. If your opponent long-castles,destroy him/her with your pawns. Thanks for viewing my blog.Meet you in my next blog(soon).
