Hello everyone, today, we will learn the Nimzowitsch Larsen Attack. I have divided this series into three parts so that you will understand better. So let's get started.

This is one of my favourite opening because it is easy and fun. We fianchetto our bishop on the long a1 to h8 diagonal. Our bishop controls the long diagonal and the major pieces finish the game. So after we move our bishop to b2, we attack the e5 pawn. Seeing this, players usually play Nc6, developing the knight and defending the pawn. Then, we play e3 opening the diagonal for our bishop. The reason behind this is once we place our bishop on b5 and capture the knight, we'll get the pawn on e5. So basically we used the lesson 'Removing the Defender'. Now let's look at some key points you will need to use while playing the Nimzowitsch Larsen Attack.

Key Points to Remember :-

  • Try to have the bishop pair because this will be an open game and bishops are the best choice in open games.
  • Never resign even if you are losing because the Nimzowitsch Larsen Attack is a match turning opening. Which means you can draw the game if your opponent does not playing correctly.
  • Don't celebrate before winning the game because as I said, this is a match turning opening.

The part 2 will come soon. Please follow me if you liked the blog. Also share your valuable feedback in the comments. THANKS.
